I guess that is the charm/genius of the game). So the Leviathan Reaper. So thank you again (all I want to do is build bases and swim around, but damn it I can't help pushing my luck. I love a bit of tension but come on, I want to actually sleep after playing this game! I can happily say screw that, that is an experience in this game I am more than happy to skip thank you very much. So, it now sounds like my grand plan of stomping over there in my newly built PRAWN suit would have ultimately given me the scariest experience of the game so far. People keep saying entirely stupid things like "avoid it", yet I can't see more than 20 meters through the gloom and this thing circles the entire area and hunts me down amidst screams of terror wherever I am. Like the curious cat with a death wish, all I want to do was comb that spot for blueprints. I tried once more under the cover of darkness to comb the seabed and as I was hiding on the bottom, "distraction beacon" (bloody useless) already placed a good 100 meters away, it still hunted me down and nearly killed me. I then went timidly into the darkness with my newfound confidence and nearly cried when a fifty foot behemoth bolted out of the darkness and took me down to 20+ as I sped off home to lick my wounds. So assuming it was a small, very nasty shark, I didn't go near the wreck again until I had a Seamoth. I'm a grown man who loves a good horror game and all I dreamt of was sharks stalking me in the deep that night. I was having a lovely time when it snuck up behind me, flipped me around and ripped my face off. I first met the Reaper (before I even knew it existed) whilst joyfully swimming around the wreck behind the Aurora. You are a legend, there's nothing like going looking for answers on a forum and having someone answer it thoroughly with examples! Until the terrain clipping bugs and the "invulnerable face" issue are addressed, PRAWNS still don't solve the Reaper problem, unfortunately.

You can't kill it, you can't get away, and it can still kill you. While it's better protected than the Seamoth, the PRAWN at the moment is the LAST thing you want to be driving when you encounter the Reaper. Few players want to go to that kind of trouble and/or use the Console freely to cheat in suits but still fight the critters normally. Even then I've seen very few multi-suit fights that killed it at all. I have yet to see video proof of a Reaper kill with a PRAWN that didn't involve the loss of at least 2 suits, if not more. Note that none of these involve the death of the Reaper. They attempt to leave, only to have the (still angry) Reaper follow them home in their slow-ass PRAWN, to re-leash and live forever in the Shallows by their Moonpool as a massive annoyance. Lastly, sometimes the Reaper is having an off day and doesn't grapple much, but the PRAWN can't land enough hits to kill the thing in anything like a reasonable time due to the huge disparity in maneuverability and the Reaper's unfairly tiny hitbox, and the player gets bored. Quite often, you'll see a video where this happens to the 1st suit, and the owner builds a second one to try to finish the Reaper off, only to be pitched off or below the world. A key factor seems to be that punches and drilling do NOT do damage to the Reaper's face while you are grappled it's face is apparently utterly invulnerable, which is highly annoying and unfair. Most commonly, the suit is dragged or knocked under or over the edge of the world and unavoidably lost, usually with the death of the pilot either below crush depth, due to lack of O2, or snapped up by the Reaper upon bailing out.Īlmost as often, the Reaper grabs the suit and does enough damage over several grapples to destroy it. Yep, all Reaper vs PRAWN videos I've seen end one of three ways: Check out this vid, it might give you a good idea I'm pretty sure it takes a while with default arms. I'm assuming its because the reapers have a habit of swimming into the terrain. Originally posted by Maestro4202:So with regular prawn fists how much does it take to kill one? I've watch YT vids of people trying but they always glitch out and sink to their deaths and lose the suit too.
